At Gainesville Alumni Association, we encourage youth to dream big and adopt a leadership mindset, while supporting and providing the resources necessary to realize, attain and surpass their goals.

Why We Exist

We are concerned for our youth and our future as a vibrant, attractive community. We understand that the transformation starts from within. Children are our future and how we develop our youth today will determine what Gainesville looks like tomorrow.

We offer non-profit youth development services through schools, churches and community organizations, as well as direct-to-youth through parents. We focus our efforts on grassroots initiatives that allow our mentors and speakers to work with students face-to-face, as a method of empowering them to develop leadership skills; aiming higher and to thrive.

Our Story

Founded in 2015, Gainesville Alumni Association is a non-profit youth development organization in Gainesville, Florida.

We aim to make a difference in the lives of local youth by connecting families with the community resources, encouraging collaboration between youth focused organizations in the Gainesville area and holding events that create real, tangible impact for our clients.

What We Do

Personal success. Academic success. Professional success.

We teach youth the value of having a vision, striving towards academic success, personal and social responsibility, community leadership, making good choices, establishing healthy habits and developing a good work ethic.

We show students that being a highly-paid athlete or musician are not the only paths to success in life. We empower them to see the unique possibilities life has in store for them and help them discover their talents, gifts and strengths so they can develop a unique vision for their future that allows them to feel fulfilled while providing value to others and making a difference in their community and their world. We do this by partnering with Gainesville leaders in business, innovation, community service and more.

Our unique role in our community allows us to create real impact with our services.

As GAA ourselves, we understand the challenges that our youth face. We can relate! We know what our youth are going through and what circumstances they witness daily. This understanding allows us to provide practical support to our students.

Our innovative youth development services bridge the gap to help youth overcome obstacles and reach their full potential.

The range of services we are bringing to the area does not exist in our community today. Our symposiums, community events and mentoring programs give youth and parents access to all the resources they need to be successful while creating an opportunity for us to receive critical feedback on which services are still needed.

We have a professional base of former residents that other organizations do not.

We have worked tirelessly to establish relationships with current and former community residents who have overcome – in some cases unimaginable – obstacles and achieved personal and professional success. The mentorship opportunities that these relationships provide are unique and inspiring. Our students love their mentors!
